Overview of Our Prices and Kitesurfing Lessons and Courses in Sussex
A full IKO course is covered in three days which you can split into any number of single days, taken privately or in groups. The course covers all essential skills and information although we strongly recommend taking the five day course which, more realistically, allows time for the discovery and development of confidence that is required to become a kitesurfer.None of the courses have to be taken consecutively.
If you would like to call for a chat or to get clarification on the lesson system, vouchers or pricing then please feel free to call Chris.

Brighton Kitesurfing Lessons.
Learn to kitesurf with Brighton Elementary Kitesurfing School’s IKO qualified instructor Chris Miles. Our school on the south coast in Brighton Sussex is accessible from London and throughout the south. We provide kitesurfing lessons and courses for beginners who just want to dip their toes and test the waters up to full IKO kitesurfing independent level four certification and all your kitesurfing courses can be booked online to secure your lessons before the summer rush. Your IKO kitesurfing lessons will be given according to the IKO syllabus in four main stages Discovery, Intermediate and Independent and Advanced which will take place over 1-5 days in the Brighton area around Sussex. When you finish any course or part of it your progress will be logged and you then receive an IKO kitesurfer certification which records your progress for when you are kiting in the future. This tells other schools how far you have advanced in the IKO international kitesurfing system and will be indispensable if you wish to hire equipment or continue your kitesurf education without starting from scratch.
Your Kitesurfing lessons in the water are generally restricted to five hour windows per day, around low tide . The IKO water courses are run with a partner, unless you have booked to go private, so if you did not come with anyone we will match you up before the beginning of your course. You can of course opt for one to one lessons or take a Powerkite lesson separately as a taster-please note Powerkite session is included as the first part of the IKO day 1 Discovery course so if you choose to do the Powerkite Course and then go on to take the IKO Discovery with BEKS you will be credited for the money already paid and accredited with the tuition completed. We recommend that all students take out their own personal accident insurance to cover kitesurfing which can be done through the BKSA. Brighton kitesurfing lessons will generally be done on our local stony beaches so it is essential you bring an old pair of trainers to protect your feet, we do carry neoprene socks that you can buy so that your feet are still cosy early on in the season and then later in October and November when it starts to get colder again.
Once a booking is made your email will be added to our alert list for kitesurfing lessons and you are then informed of all good weather coming up and then you can book into one of the days that come up .
The courses are limited to 1, 2 or 4 students depending on which one you buy and we start group courses with a minimum of 2 students. We will use your email address to certify you with the IKO and send you updates. As we won’t know what the wind is doing until nearer the time, I will inform you when is likely to be a good time to book in, and then an email is sent out the night before your booking at 8 pm to finalise the time. If you have bought a weekend course then you can also book weekdays. You will need to keep the whole day free when booking out time for yourself- in case the wind changes, then we can take advantage of the best conditions available on that day.
It is best to wear warm walking clothes and bring water and sun cream if it is hot and a waterproof in case of rain.If you would like a Gopro video of your class so that you can watch your successful first starts on the board or study the video to see what mistakes you were making then please inform us in advance.
Before your Kitesurfing lessons please download, print, read carefully then fill in the booking / medical form and waiver and remember to bring them with you on your first day. If there is any information that we need to be made aware of please make sure we are told in advance of your first lesson.
